"We breed "TRUE" working Corso"
Cypress Arrow Ranch & Kennel has been breeding Cane Corso Italiano since 1998 with help and guidance from my late father. We have maintained our oldest American bred lines with influence of pure Italian and imported lines. We started as a small hobby breeder with only one or two quality litters per year including some litters not even registered but sold as strict working dogs to farmers and hunters. We started out with just a couple of our beloved dogs initially for protection and guarding our family and property. With a love and passion for protection canine, my father and I bred several other breeds of dogs in the early 80's and 90's (Pitbulls, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Blackmouth Curs, Catahoula Curs, Old English Mastiffs, and Australian Cattle Dogs), and found that the Corso to be the most diverse, intelligent and protective of all of them and with the greatest temperaments for both working and family dogs. Our dogs were.... and still are the best in ranch work, hunting, protection and just being a great loyal family companion.
Our goal in our breeding program puts strong emphasis on;
MEETING BREED STANDARD,
DRIVE and HEALTH.
We aim to extend these traits to others who want to experience this exceptional breed of canine. These dogs are very lovable yet un-trusting of strangers. We make sure when we breed, our dogs are guaranteed to have the confidence and drive to work!
We breed for the TRUE working Cane Corso. As stated in the history of this breed, you will find that they will hunt as well as work cattle on a ranch. Cane Corso are very protective of their home and family and loyal to the end!
Our dogs are our family!
Cypress Arrow Kennel is dedicated to preserving the working ability and intelligence of the Cane Corso. We are one of few Cane Corso breeders in Louisiana and the southern United States. Our dogs are proven to have excellent working abilities and temperaments.
You'll never own another dog like the Cane Corso once you get one...I promise!
Read our testimonials below when you have a chance and contact us when you want to experience a great friend and companion from our Louisiana Corso Family.
We also will provide referrals on request.

" Tina, our Zoe and buddy are deer hunters...we went on another finding mission and Zoe found the deer for the second time. Buddy has also been doing well in his deer hunting. Awesome dogs with family and for hunting!" C. Brown (2014) -Colfax, Louisiana
"Just wanted to tell you that Zeus is our hero. Yesterday evening my daughter was walking him and a pit bull ran up to my daughter and tried to bite her. Zeus snapped at it and it ran off but the pit bull can back and Zeus growled and the dog finally ran off. So Zeus is our hero. Afterwards, he listened to my daughter (age 14) and they came home. “ (Spike) He is wonderful! He’s almost 8 months now and strong as an ox. He’s almost 85 pounds. He is beginning to get very protective and you can forget coming in the house if he doesn’t know you. My friend came over the other day and I brought him outside so he could meet her and she wouldn’t get out of the car. He has that deep bark but he was trying to play I think. Anyway, she ended up leaving and not getting out. I had to laugh. You should have seen her face. He sleeps with me and is taking up the whole bed! He gets right up against me which leaves me hanging off the bed most of the time. But he is the best cuddler ever. If he is by my feet I’ll say come lay by me and he will get up and come lay his head on the pillow just like I do and I rub his ears and jaws. Sounds silly I know but he likes it. ” (puppy by Sky X Brutus)
Melissa Maxwell (2011) - Vidor, Texas
"Dear Tina: Tommy and I did a lot of searching for the right baby. We really appreciate all of the information you provided and your honesty regarding the Cane Corso Breed. I really enjoyed meeting you and spending time with you and Victoria and seeing Deuce in his environment. It's only been since 8/23/13 that I picked him up and you wouldn't believe how well he has adapted. He is very well behaved and he is potty training very well. Thanks again for such a beautiful baby!! (puppy by Eleanor X Armaggedon)

I haven't post any pictures in a while, so bare with me bc I am going to take a moment to brag about Tina N Bryan Frey and ~Cypress Arrow Lycan del Cielo Scuro~ *werewolf of the dark sky* A few weekends ago we were getting dress to go to church, I always let my kids outside, we live down a gravel road, down a dirt road, no worries of them outside, he did not want them outside, which is strange being he usually is the first out the door. He refused and was persistent on getting into the truck, my truck is huge, it has a 9" lift and he WAS getting in!! Their was someone in the truck. Not in their right mind obviously,, We would have never known if it were not for him. My kids would have seen this person or worse, we could have left our home with them easy access to it! He knew this was not write! He is absolutely amazing! My sons Birthday party I was worried, knowing now this is his property to watch, this was a lot of people he would be socializing with. He did wonderful. He had to show off to everyone by prancing around and being well mannered, even with the stingy kids who would not share their food, lol. I could not ask for better temperament, health and TRUE physical appearance! (8 mth pup by Sky X Boss) Owned by Ashley Aymond : Port Barre, LA
My husband has been wanting a Cane Corso for a while, after doing a lot of reading I agreed with him. After looking for months for the "perfect image and temperament" we wanted, we found the perfect breeder with Boss x Sky!! First conversation with her in April, i was confident about choosing Cypress Arrow Kennels, I KNEW this was going to be who we would get our pup from. What felt like forever we got our boy today. The first place I stopped, a lady was complimenting him & said "Shes a great breeder and trainer, this is definitely one of Tina Freys" she smiled and walked away! That is amazing!! After waiting so long you build this perfect image in your head of what your pup would be,, and he is everything plus more. I am amazed with his personality and intelligence and this is day ONE! Thank you Tina Bryan Frey for making this the best experience for us & answering all questions no matter how silly. Lol. We love our Lycan already. A. Aymonds (2014)- Port Barre, Louisiana
"We thank you enough Tina for our new addition...Bruna. Here is our GORGEOUS pup out of Eleanor and Mogol. She is just perfect...Thanks again for allowing us to own such a beautiful and smart girl." Pup by Eleanor X Mogol. (2014) Mary Vanecek, St Louis, MO
"My boy Chief....I must say this is the smartest dog I have ever met...LOL" Thanks for my wonderful pup! Pup by Rosa X Boss (2014) J. Sanchez, Texas
"Gotta give a shout out to Tina Frey and the Cypress Arrow Cane Corso Family!! I got my first boy from Tina two years ago...we still keep in touch often and I always find myself visiting her kennel when I make trips to Louisiana without my boy. She is truly a breeder that once you purchase a pup from her you are part of the family...anyone interested in a pup should absolutely check her out...:)" (2013) Pup X Rhenni X Brutus - D. Piccolo, Dumont, NJ
Exceptional, extraordinary and amazing are only a few words I can use to describe Cypress Arrow kennels. When my family and I went to pick up our new pup, we noticed something. Someone loves what they are doing. The grounds housed more than just Cane Corso's they were a part of the family. Mrs. Tina, Bryan and her daughter are doing some amazing thing is Lena, LA. They were very professional as well as informative. If you are looking to purchase a quality top of the line Champion Cane Corso, Cypress Arrow is the kennel to need to go. Don't forget to check out Boss on the website he is on TV! (2015) Pup by Boss X Shelby - T. Washington, LaPlace, LA.
What Defines A GOOD Breeder?
What Defines A GOOD Breeder?
This is definitely a loaded question but I wanted to address a few things I've seen and heard over the years of breeding. I've not only bred Corso, my father and I have bred several other breeds of dogs since I was a small girl. I have experienced well over 50 plus litters born over the years and have experienced and performed all types of minor surgeries and cured or managed illnesses and diseases in dogs and equine. My experience (including college from NSU) is vast in veterinarian studies and training with canine and equine.
As a breeder, I have years of knowledge that pertains to puppies health, temperament, structure, pedigrees, etc and have kept watch for years and asked about our pups that are owned by others.
Just because a person has had one litter doesn't mean they're a good breeder (or a breeder at all) and on the other hand not all people that have had several litters is a "good" breeder .
SO WHAT IS A GOOD BREEDER?
I believe a good breeder supports their puppy buyers and keeps up taking notes on the life of the pup including sickness, temperament, size, structure etc. this information is knowledge knowing and predicting future pup's by the same pairings.
A good breeder is a great mentor! In this I mean... to give information freely to their customers and helping them in training or finding a trainer, helping those customers with doing good things with their dogs and not degrading them if something accidentally happens to their pup. Things happen in life not planned. A mentor supports their following and earns trust and builds relationships. A breeder is part of the family for the entire puppy's life.
A good breeder does the right thing! If I ever have a customer dissatisfied with a pup or dog for most reasons I replace the dog no questions asked. Why? Because it's good customer service and yes there is always a protocol to follow but I do make sure my folks are happy. I don't leave them in the cold. Majority of my pup's go to repeat customers because I've earned their trust and help them . That's why I love being a breeder....I like to make people happy.
A good breeder guarantees their products! Yes I believe in health testing my dogs but other breeders may not. I think this is a responsibility to me and for others knowing we are breeding for quality with each pairing. I like to know I'm doing the right thing not only for the breed but for the dog and their owners. Replacing pups is expensive but it's not about the money it's about making people happy and breeding a quality dog.
DOES A BREEDER KNOW EVERYTHING? No of course not! However, a breeder that has years of experience in having several litters would certainly know more (by experience) than a person that has only had one litter or none at all. Who's advice would you rather take? I've had more experience with ear crops than most vets.....so I believe my knowledge with ear cropping far exceeds most vet opinions regarding the healing process and care for them. Folks that express their opinions not having the experience behind them are just saying or believing what they read. Without wisdom you don't have a right to an opinion with or without facts.....not all situations are the same.
WHAT OTHER KNOWLEDGE IS EXPECTED FROM A BREEDER?
Well...in my opinion a good breeder must be knowledgeable in training and handling of that breed of dog. Not all breeds are the same. I'm a certified trainer and mentor trainer (I train trainers) and I assist my puppy customers in basic training skills our dogs must have as they grow. This also helps them decide if they will have time for the puppy. I believe the more experience and knowledge a breeder has they are more likely to be successful if they do what's always best for the animals.
Be humble, be professional and be open enough to listen to those with experience. My testimonials tell my story. Don't always think what people say or do is the correct thing just because they own a dog. Get a mentor
